When Rushil Mohan's grandmother's blood sugar went dangerously high for months, no one noticed — her blurred vision just looked like normal aging until a routine checkup caught it. That quiet, gradual change is exactly what VIGIL is built to detect. The warning signs are usually there. The challenge is noticing them early enough to matter.

VIGIL processes video entirely on the local hardware unit. Only computed wellness metrics — walking speed, posture scores, activity patterns — are stored, on-site, in the facility's own local database. Nothing is sent to external servers. All communication between the camera unit and the caregiver's iPhone happens over a private encrypted network.
About
Built by a student, inspired by family.
Rushil Mohan is a student at The Overlake School in Bellevue, Washington. He built VIGIL independently after watching a family member's health decline quietly for months before anyone noticed. VIGIL is his attempt to give caregivers and families the early signal that his own family didn't have. The app and monitoring system were designed and built entirely by Rushil, currently being piloted with local assisted living facilities.
